most wedding dress shops sell them. Or if you don't want to spend much you could look on ebay. I borrowed mine from a friend!

I am hiring mine for £35 from my dress shop, seemed like the easiest option to me.

I was going to hire one but have decided to look into buying (for one reason or another!). aboutabride suggested that online retailers may sell them for cheaper than most shops charge to hire them so I wondered if anyone could recommend a specific online retailer that they may have used...?

hmmm I hadn't thought about it - just assumed I'd get it from the same shop I bought my dress

Mine was a tenner from Ebay. If the hoop is too big, you can unpick the hoop and there is a join in the metal so that you can adjust it.

I'd let you have mine, but I've no idea where it is or my wedding shoes

I decided to buy one on Ebay to save money as they were a lot cheaper, it cost me £23 inc postage. Before I brought it I sent a photo to the seller of a dress that was the same shape as mine and asked what petticoat would be best, she then advised and so I ordered it. When it arrived I took the hoop to try on with my dress and as soon as I took it out the bag the lady in the bridal shop siad that's no good, she could see it was bad quaility, but she said lets just try it (She wanted me to see for myself) sure enough it was no good, it was just not strong enought to hold my dress and the dress lost all its shape. So whilst trying to save money It could have ended up costing me more, I was lucky tho, my friend got married last year and siad I could try her hoop, an it worked, so I now have my something borrowed plus saving money.
All I want to say is be very careful, I would advise trying to get a hoop from the same place as your dress at least you know its going to ok with your dress.
